I love to make things, especially quilts, but lately have been addicted to embroidery & applique.

90th. Birthday
I'm finally back to some sewing and embroidery. Our son-in-law's grandmother celebrated her 90th. birthday yesterday and it was a great party in beautiful surroundings. My daughter suggested a small apron for her, which I made and realized again how much I love needlework.
I am retired, and enjoy being home. Several years ago I said to my daughter, I wish we could make a quilt and she said... well lets try........and we've never looked back. She encourages me and is my biggest influence, her creativity is amazing. She and Jay have given us a beautiful granddaughter, Sadie and a new grandson Milo, born June 21, 2009.

That's a lovely gift idea for a 90 year young person. She will surely appreciate that you made it and stitched it yourself.
